Firefox crashes! Oh not again!!
"#$$%$^! Firefox crashes five times already today!". That's what my boss said yesterday at the office... and frankly he's not the only one complaining of the firefox.
Probably you too are also frustrated by the fact that Firefox is getting more unstable for the last few months. I embarassed to say that "I love firefox" now... It is indeed very frustrating when you are in the mid of debugging/testing on firefox then it closes by itself.
So what is actually going on with firefox, the once we promote all over the web for its stability and friendliness? (well at least to us developer
)
It seems to me the crashes often appears on Windows platform... (bravo to tux!
) so I did a little test this afternoon.. what test exactly I did? well just regular usage of my firefox: debugging my own website... 2 hours on windows and 2 hours on my opensuse
on my windows its running firefox 2.0.0.14 and my opensuse is on firefox 2.0.0.13... both having the same extensions: web developer tool & firebug... ahh.. my opensuse firefox has beagle turn on too...
Guess what? 2 times firefox closes by itself within 2 hour in windows while on my opensuse's firefox has not crashes yet till the time I write this words :).
It seems that it's also OS problem? my laptop in the office runs on Ubuntu and the firefox does not crashes as often as my boss' laptop too. It can't be another OS warss??! :0
It would be very interesting to find out why this is happening...
Meanwhile, I will do standard firefox diagnostics first on the windows, see whether it helps. Firefox crashes articles on the Mozilla knowledgebase would be also a good starting point to check on this issues. Ok till my further checks when I'm free (finishing up my project now
)....
